Seconds
What are seconds?
Seconds are flawed but still functional and lovable pieces.
What counts as a second?
Different artists have different standards for what counts as a flaw.
Some examples include: glaze imperfections that are too light/ too heavy, pinholes, crazing, unintended textures, and/or warping.
Seconds are quirky and functional additions to any collector’s cupboards. Perfect for folks who tend to personify objects a bit and don’t want to see them get smashed. Wonderful for someone interested in supporting the craft but remaining thrifty, too.
Care Guide
Please inspect your piece when you first receive it.
All pieces are dishwasher safe, however hand washing all of your handmade ceramic wares is recommended for the long and happy lives of your pieces.
Though food safe, some matte glazes may stain with heavily pigmented foods (think beets.)
Though tested, some matte glazes may start to scuff after vigorous and prolonged use.
Use caution when heating.
